Overview
Four Generations... the base of the Bighorn Mountains is Klondike Ranch - a family-run working ranch on 8,500 scenic acres that has been in the Tass family since 1920. They have 40 head of horses and run 600 head of mother cows. You can enjoy being a part of an authentic cattle drive ranch whether its riding on the herd, moving to new pastures, checking the condition of the animals or “doing chores” such as fencing, doctoring livestock, cutting and baling hay, and irrigating pasturelands. You are invited to assist with these activities because at Klondike anyone can learn to rope, herd cattle, and repair barbed wire fences.
Klondike takes pride in making friends with guests, as they become part of the family. They believe that guests should set their own agendas and they help the guests plan the next day’s activity. It may be riding, camping, fishing or going on a historic tour. You might even go to a rodeo, do some photography, read a book, or study the stars. Sometimes it is a combination of all the above. With any luck you'll view deer, elk, moose, antelope or hear the shaking of a rattlesnake.
With the dramatic landscapes of beautiful, unspoiled country and rich history you will be captivated by legends of Native Americans, stories of the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang and John Tilsdale, and many well-known battles such as Little Big Horn and Johnson County Cattle War. Let Klondike Ranch show you the American West as it once was - rugged, friendly and unchanging.
