Lodging accommodations consist of five individual 1,250 square foot handcrafted log homes and four rooms in the Lodge.
The cabins have a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room, downstairs master bedroom with queen bed, upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, loft with sleeper sofa and one bathroom. All linens are supplied and housekeeping service is provided daily or as desired. Maximum occupancy is six people per cabin.
All Lodge rooms have private baths and balconies. Two rooms each have one queen bed; the two suites are more spacious, one has a king bed, the other has two queens. All Lodge rooms have daily maid service and fresh linens. |
| Dining |
Although the cabins have complete kitchen facilities, the restaurant at Aspen Ridge serves three meals daily to meet the needs of guests. The restaurant is popular with locals as well and it is not uncommon for folks to make the 100+ mile round-trip just for dinner. Guests order from a menu that features country breakfasts, homemade desserts, and excellent mesquite barbequed beef, ribs and chicken. Quality ingredients, generous portions, and from-scratch preparation are the pride of the kitchen. |

| Additional Info |
Summer arrives with a profusion of wildflowers and a burst of good fishing. Cow work is the focus of every day. Early in the season, some of the cattle are pushed to the upper range; the rest are scattered among the meadows of the ranch. Weaning (in July) and calving season (August through October) are periods of intense cattle work and horseback riding.
Summer also brings a chance to play. The annual fly-in and cutting events have become traditions. Keep an eye on the roping arena; it is often the site of an impromptu team roping or barrel racing practice.
Fall has been referred to as the “secret season” in central Oregon. Pleasant days and cool nights offer leisurely hours for hiking, fishing and relaxing. Fall colors, as the aspen trees turn, can be spectacular.
September begins with a whirl of activity as the town of Lakeview hosts the Annual Lake County Fair and Round-Up. There is always some great rodeo action (some of the participants might even look familiar) along with lots of small town fun.
Of course, the ranch work goes on. Yearlings are shipped, calving continues, and cattle are gathered from the forest range. In early November, the final gather begins and the entire herd is shipped to winter pasture in California. |
